SimpleMail is a Tauranga based business founded in 2009 by Ryan Kilfoil, Daniel Necklen & Brendan Kilfoil. We started SimpleMail because we found it crazy that NZ businesses would happily spend hundreds of dollars marketing themselves in a newspaper before they would spend a few dollars and market themselves to their existing customers via email.
We’re still learning
We’ve all been in business before but we’ve certainly learnt a lot since starting SimpleMail.
Back in 2009 we focused solely on selling email templates that we would custom design for each client. The problem with this approach was that we weren’t able to help businesses who needed us but couldn’t afford the upfront cost (it was a recession!) of paying for the design of their own template.
With this in mind, we created some basic templates that businesses could use by simply adding their own logo, text and images. Now all businesses can use SimpleMail without the upfront cost which is great! We still offer custom templates but this subtle change represented a significant shift in direction for us as a business.
We take pride in everything we do and we’re always looking to improve. We hope you like SimpleMail and the opportunities it can bring for your business.
